Terms of Service

Last updated: August 13, 2026

The short version

Fractal AI is a personal AI companion operated by Waggle Dance LLP. You keep ownership of everything you put into it. We use your content only to run the service for you — never to train shared models, never sold. It is free while in beta. It is software, not a professional, and it is sometimes wrong: don't rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or mental-health decisions. You can export or delete everything at any time.

That summary is here for readability. The sections below are the actual agreement.

Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using Fractal AI (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service. If you use Fractal on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you're authorised to accept these terms for it.

These terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect and how it's handled.

Who can use Fractal

You must be at least 16 years old, or older if that's the age of digital consent where you live. Fractal builds a detailed model of a person from their own words, which is not something we're willing to do for children.

Your account

  • Give accurate information when you sign up.
  • Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for activity under your account.
  • If you think someone else has access, change your password immediately — that invalidates existing sessions.
  • One person per account. Don't share or resell access.

Your content stays yours

You keep all rights to the content you upload or create — chat history, documents, journal entries, notes, goals, plans, and anything you say to Fracty.

You give us a limited licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you: to generate responses, build your personality and behavioural model, produce plans and insights, and show it back to you. This licence exists only so the product can function, it is not exclusive, and it ends when you delete the content or your account.

We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train shared or third-party models.

What Fractal is not

Fractal generates text with large language models. That means it can be confidently wrong, misremember, or invent detail — including about you. Treat its output as a thinking aid, not as fact and not as advice.

Fractal is not a doctor, therapist, lawyer, or financial adviser, and nothing it produces is professional advice. Don't use it to diagnose or treat any condition or to make medical, legal, or financial decisions. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please contact your local emergency number or a crisis line — Fractal cannot help you in an emergency and is not monitored by a human.

Acceptable use

Don't use Fractal to:

  • Break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
  • Upload another person's private communications or personal data without a lawful basis for doing so.
  • Harass, defame, impersonate, or build a profile of someone without their knowledge.
  • Generate content that sexualises minors, incites violence, or facilitates serious harm.
  • Probe, scrape, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service, or evade its rate limits and security controls.
  • Resell the Service or use it to build a competing product.

We may suspend or close accounts that do these things, and we'll tell you why where we can.

Connected services

You can optionally connect third-party accounts such as Google Calendar, Notion, Telegram, or YouTube. Those services have their own terms and we don't control them. You can disconnect any of them at any time from your profile, and doing so stops future syncing.

Price

Fractal is free while in beta. If we introduce paid plans, we'll give you clear notice beforehand and you will never be charged without opting in. Nothing here obliges you to pay anything today.

Beta software, availability, and changes

Fractal is under active development. Features may change or be removed, and the Service may be unavailable at times for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We aim to keep it running and to keep your data safe, but we don't promise uninterrupted or error-free service.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Your data, which removes your content from our systems. You can also export everything from the same place first. Deletion is permanent — we can't restore an account after it's gone.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, or discontinue the Service entirely, in which case we'll give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data.

Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Waggle Dance LLP will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above, and significant ones will be communicated by email or in-app notification. Continuing to use Fractal after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Who operates Fractal

Fractal AI is built and operated by Waggle Dance LLP.

Account, data, and privacy actions are self-serve and don't require contacting anyone: export or permanently delete everything from Profile → Your data, and change your password from the same screen.
